Boston Immigrant Deportation Attorneys

Deportation and Removal

Removal proceedings are used to determine whether an individual should be deported from the U.S.

The removal process begins when you receive a notice to appear (NTA) from the Department of Homeland Security. The NTA will state why you are being ordered to appear before an immigration judge and what the consequences will be for failing to appear. If you are eligible for an immigration benefit, you have the right to apply for relief from removal.

There are several types of relief from removal. Some of the most common are:

  • Cancellation of removal
  • Adjustment of status
  • Political asylum

The law firm of Genzale and Haven, LLP, is a boutique immigration and naturalization law firm with an emphasis on personal attention to our clients and their immigration issues. We are committed to excellence and to achieving the best possible outcome for our clients.

Deferred Inspection Issues

An order to appear for a deferred inspection is issued if an individual's immigration status cannot be determined during the primary and secondary inspections at the port of entry.

It takes place after an individual's initial application for admission into the U.S., and it usually occurs at a different site from where the individual originally applied for admission.

Insufficient documentation is one of the most common reasons for problems involving deferred inspection. Our deferred inspection lawyers can meet with you in order to evaluate your case. If retained, we will prepare you for the deferred inspection interview, gather relevant documentation and accompany you to your interview.
